Poperinge is tucked away in a remote corner of West Flanders. The surrounding villages were overrun by British, French and US troops for 4 years. The land still bears the traces of WW1, including numerous military cemeteries.

Then there’s the world-famous Saint Sixtus Abbey, which renowned for its Westvleteren Trappist beer.

Practicalities

Hotel Amfora has 15 bicycles available for hotel guest or external visitor use:

5 women’s bicycles, 5 men's bicycles and 5 electric bicycles
For reasons of hygiene, bicycle helmets are not provided. Please bring your own if desired.
Bookings can be made by phone or an email specifying your name, date and mobile phone number. Your booking is only finalised upon confirmation. We will take a copy of your credit card as a guarantee.
All bicycles are equipped with an adjustable saddle and a sturdy lock.
There are a variety of lovely cycling routes in the Poperinge region. Several of these are available from the local tourist information office (Hoppeland route, POP route, Frontier route, Schreveroute, Fleterna route). Naturally, you can also plan your own route.

Prices:

City bicycle: € 14/day (9 am – 6 pm)
- pick up after 2 pm: € 12 (2 pm - 6 pm)
Electric bicycle: 35 Euros/day (9 am - 6 pm)
